Career Counselling (Planning) DV Surivor - Blu Ripples Research

Blu Ripples Career Counselling (Planning) for DV Survivors Workshop – 2015, Port Stephens, NSW.

Blu Ripples Founder, local Medowie resident Katherine Foster, is proud to announce that Blu Ripples will be implementing a specalist Career Counselling (Planing) Workshop for DV Survivors in 2015.   The innovative program is a direct result of Katherine completing several Domestic Violence (DV) and Abuse training courses over recent years coupled with her Counselling and Human Resource qualifications, professional background, domestic and international research – which highlighted that no specalist Career Counselling (Planning) programs existed for DV Survivors within Australia.

Katherine’s aim is simple it is about 1) empowering DV Survivors to re-establish their careers to  minimise the risk of returning to an abusive relationship and 2) increasing survivors sense of self worth, esteem and independence so that they can have a positive and meaningful life moving forward.

The one day workshop will cover a range of specalist career counselling and development topics for survivors of domestic violence (DV) such as (but not limited to) identifying triggers, coping strategies and occupational interests, designing empowering employment documentation such as resumes, selection criteria and cover letters.

The first workshop will act as a focus group for Blu Ripples and as such will be free for registered participants. The workshop group will be kept to a maximum of 10 participants to ensure optimal group and individual attention; thus, in return Blu Ripples is simply asking that all participants provide their honest feedback at the completion of the day so the program can evolve into a renowned program.

Finally, it should be noted that if there is a strong interest in the first workshop an additional 2 free focus workshop sessions will be run within the first 3-6 months of 2015 prior to Blu Ripples rolling out a more comprehensive program in the middle to later part of 2015.

If you or a loved one has escaped a domestic violence situation and would like to participate in this Career Counselling (Planning) Workshop; please contact Katherine on 1300 300 557 or alternatively please e-mail her – info@bluripples.com.au.

Let’s come together and make this a formidable project.
