One of the major milestones of life is that of Child to Adult and all that brings along with it including entering the workforce.

Don’t panic, it is OK, you are not alone. It is very common for individuals to go through this transitional confusion.
In fact, it is not uncommon for an individual to believe they want to be XYZ, train for their career and then get into the position and find out it is not for them.
Over the course of one’s career, one has frequently spoken to people in your position and reassured them that what you think you want at the end of Year 10 or Year 12, what you train for after you leave school and what you end up doing at the age of 25 years + is often vastly different than the dreams and aspirations of a young adult just entering the workforce.
Why is that? Great question perhaps you know and understand yourself a little bit better (personality, likes, dislikes, interests), maybe you have listened to yourself rather than outside influences and decided to follow your passion – the reasons are many but one perceives you get the picture.
In stating the above, it is possible for you to overcome your transitional confusion with a little help from a Careers Counsellor; it will require some time and commitment on your part but positive outcomes can be achieved including self-assurance in knowing you are on the right path and are ready for work .
